InXpress Move-In Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
In the Removal Service industry,
Limited Liability
or STANDARD LIABILITY
is the recommended practice because the Removal Firm (InXpress)
will not know the value of
your goods.
Therefore, we strongly recommend that all
our customers take out
Insurance to cover
against losses greater than the liability limits set out in our
terms and conditions below and for risks where they have no rights of
recourse against the removal contractor.
Insurance
In many circumstances, you may find that the movement of your personal
effects is covered under the terms of your household insurance. In
some other cases it is possible that your credit card company may
provide cover.
InXpress terms
and conditions are important. Please note the following:
InXpress excludes liability for Jewellery, antiques, bullion, works
of art and other similar high value items.
InXpress excludes liability for owner packed goods other than
negligence.
InXpress specifies the time limits for submitting claims
for loss or
damage is to be within 7 days of acceptance of delivery.
On completion of
your estimate and when the quote is
accepted, we require a 20% deposit when a fixed moving date is in
place.
Matching Pairs and Full Sets of Items
Like most household contents policies, if one of a pair of items or
part of a set is lost or damaged, insurers will only pay for the
individual item that is lost or damaged. Insurers will not pay for
the replacement of the entire set.
Mechanical and Electrical Breakdown
It is not possible for InXpress or insurers to check that
electrical goods are working before a move takes place and insurers
obviously have no responsibility for pre-existing damage.
This means that insurers will only pay for mechanical and electrical
breakdown or derangement if there is obviously damage to outer
casings.
Goods not accepted for shipment by InXpress include
the following:
Jewellery, Bullion, Works of Art, Antiques, Flammable
Substances, Narcotics, Pornography, Animals, Body Parts, Hazardous
Goods, Cash, Credit/Debit Cards Passports, Driving Licences (or any
other form of official identification that could be used by a third
party).
Insurers will not pay for the loss or damage to goods packed by the
customers, only if there is total loss of a consignment.
